Do Not Live Here! Mar 01, 2008

| Do not live here! On the outside this complex looks pretty good. The buildings are painted red and green and look okay. The grounds are pretty clean EXCEPT FOR THE DOG POOP EVERYWHERE!
The rent rates are affordable, but be careful because you get exactly what you pay for.
The walls are paper thin you can hear every single noise. Speaking of noise... the neighbors are constantly slamming doors, stomping around, talking loud, making lots of noise until 1,2,and 3am in the morning and when you call management about the noise they do absolutely nothing about it. They tell you to call them when you need anything or when you are experiencing noise issues, but when you do call them they do absolutely nothing. Also, they tell you to call their so-called courtesy patrol people. These people are a joke. It is basically a short, loser, rent-a-cop who drives a little blue car. The courtesy patrol is not helpful, inexperienced, and just plain stupid. I do not feel safe at all knowing that this wanna-be security guard is supposedly patrolling the complex. It is supposed to be a 24-hour courtesy patrol, but I have been living here for almost three months and I have only seen someone from the patrolling company ONCE! Springhouse Apartments advertise that they have a 24-hour courtesy patrol, but don't let them fool you!
The windows are like paper. The windows are so cheap and thin that even when your windows are closed if it is windy the blinds shake and move around because all the wind comes right through the cheap thin windows. As a result of the cheap windows my apartment is always FREEZING! I have an AC/Heater, but of course it does not work properly. Since I have been here I had to change the batteries THREE times and it still does not always work.
Also, when I moved in the garbage disposal did not work, my mailbox key did not work, the drawers in the bathroom were broken, the kitchen cabinets were all scratched up and needed repainting. The manager (ROB) did a walk through with me and said he would make sure everything would be taken care of. Now here it is 3 months later and the only thing that was taken care of was the mailbox key and I only got that because I kept bugging the leasing consultants about it and finally they got a new key made. All the other things in my apartment are still broken and need to be fixed.
Now here comes the best part...One week after I moved in I started hearing this extremely loud horn-like noise from 12am until 1am in the morning. The noise was constant and extremely loud, so loud that it woke me up and caused the walls in my bedroom to shake. I walked into the management office the very next day and told the assistant manager about the noise. I told her where I thought the noise was coming from and she said she would take care of it. A few weeks later around Christmas time I heard the noise again, this time the noise started at 2:35am in the morning. I called the so called courtesy patrol people and AN HOUR AND A HALF LATER a short skinny rent-a-cop showed up got out of his little blue car, stood in the parking lot, and radioed to someone "I don't hear anything" and got back into his little car and drove off. The next day I called the management office to complain once again about the noise and Molley (leasing consultant) answered the phone. I asked to speak to the manager and she refused to let me speak to him saying he was "too busy". On Jan. 4, 2008 I heard the noise for the fourth time. This time it started at 5am in the morning and continued until about noon. Again this is a VERY LOUD, PIERCING, HORN-LIKE NOISE. Again, I went down to the management office with a recording of the actual noise and played the recording for ROB, the manager. After I played the recording for him he looked up at me and said "oh my God that is the most obnoxious noise I have ever heard". To make a long story short... the maintenance man finally came to my apartment to help me figure out where the noise was coming from. After an hour of standing in the middle of my bedroom scratching his head he finally figured out that the noise was coming from...THE WINDOW! Again, the windows are so cheap and thin that when it was storming here in the Bay Area the wind and rain was coming directly through the cracks in the window and into my bedroom making the LOUD noise.
DO NOT LIVE HERE! YOU WILL BE SO UNHAPPY AND MISERABLE! DON'T BE TRICKED BY THE LOW RATES! IT IS NOT WORTH IT. PAY THE EXTRA MONEY AND LEAVE IN A COMFORTABLE, CLEAN, SAFE, QUIET PLACE. WHERE THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY AND COMPETENT.
